Where to stay in Stratford, London 13 hotels near Westfield, the Olympic Park and London Stadium, with the walk to each

Stratford, in east London, is where I'd stay for a cheaper London bed with a fast train into town. Stratford station has the Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth lines, the DLR and the London Overground, so Liverpool Street is 8 to 10 minutes away and Tottenham Court Road about 14, and the chain hotels cost less than their central cousins: the Premier Inn here was £143 on Tuesday 10 November, against £167 to £192 at the Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn hotels around Old Street, Shoreditch and Spitalfields. It's the obvious base for Westfield Stratford City, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a West Ham game at London Stadium or ABBA Voyage. It's the wrong base for a first trip where you want Westminster and Covent Garden on foot. My picks: the Holiday Inn Express for value (£135 with breakfast), The Stratford for a couple, and Hyatt House for a family. For how Stratford compares with the rest of the city, see where to stay in London.

I've split the hotels into five patches: around Westfield and the main station; East Village by Stratford International; Stratford High Street, on the stadium side; the Broadway and Romford Road; and a container hotel at Pudding Mill Lane. Each gets its nearest station and Google's walking time to the middle of Westfield Stratford City and to London Stadium, measured on 25 September 2026. Hackney Wick and Fish Island, on the far side of the park, have no hotel of their own, only short-let flats. Hackney, Dalston and Bethnal Green are in the Shoreditch hotels guide, and Canary Wharf, ExCeL and the Royal Docks have their own page.

Every hotel has two prices: a quiet midweek night, Tuesday 10 November 2026, and Saturday 21 November 2026, when West Ham play Preston North End at London Stadium at 3pm. Stratford runs both ways. The business hotels by the station get cheaper at the weekend (the Hyatt Regency fell from £290 to £212), while the budget rooms nearly double and two of the best-value hotels had sold out, so book early for any weekend with a match or a show. Prices were taken on 25 September 2026, on the hotel's own site unless they say Booking.com, and include VAT (Snoozebox's booking page doesn't say either way); London has no tourist tax yet. They're a guide to which hotel costs what, and they'll have moved by the time you book.

Hyatt Regency London Stratford

Westfield and Stratford station: 4 to 10 minutes to the shops. This is the patch to book if the station is the point: every Tube line in Stratford is a few minutes away, and Westfield Stratford City is on the doorstep. Hyatt Regency London Stratford is built into Westfield itself, 4 minutes' walk from Stratford station and 4 from the mall, and 14 from London Stadium. It was the Holiday Inn London Stratford City until a refurbishment relaunched it as a 225-room Hyatt Regency in 2022, with the Elondi restaurant, bar and terrace. A King Room was about £290 room only on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, or £321 with free cancellation.

It's the most expensive midweek bed here, because the weekday trade is business travellers, and it gets cheaper at the weekend: £212 for the West Ham match Saturday, 21 November. The downsides are age and access: a regular guest on Google says the rooms are starting to show their age, one found that cars can't pull up near the entrance, so expect to wheel your case through the complex, and parking is in Westfield's public car park. There's no pool. Ask for an Olympic Park-view room, which is sold as its own room type.

Access: Accessible rooms and an accessible registration desk. Cars can't pull up near the entrance, so expect a walk of 100 m or more from the drop-off.
Tip

Ask for an Olympic Park-view room (sold as a separate room type). Breakfast is £25 on the room-only rate. Parking is in the public Westfield car park, not at the hotel.

the location great, particularly if shopping is your thing, but the facilities are starting to show their age from a visitor review

Premier Inn London Stratford

Premier Inn London Stratford is on International Square inside Westfield, 4 minutes from Stratford International and 6 from Stratford station, 9 from the heart of the mall and 18 from London Stadium. The hotel calls itself the closest hotel to the Olympic Park. It's the predictable choice: a Standard double was £143 non-refundable on Tuesday 10 November, or £188 flexible, and a room with a city view only £16 more. The Social, its restaurant and bar, is open 24 hours.

It's also one of the hotels that jumps at the weekend: £204 on the West Ham match Saturday, 21 November. There's no car park of its own (Westfield's Car Park A charges £25 per 24 hours), and a recent Google reviewer couldn't get anyone to answer the phone, so make changes online. Family and accessible rooms are bookable. It's the cheapest bed within a few minutes of the HS1 trains.

Access: Accessible rooms bookable; the hotel page gives no further detail.
Tip

A Standard room with a city view was £159 non-refundable, £16 more, though the view is subject to availability at check-in. No car park: Westfield Car Park A is closest, at £25 per 24 hours.

Great location, beside the Westfield shopping centre and right beside the tube. from a visitor review

Hyatt House London Stratford

Hyatt House London Stratford is the Regency's extended-stay sister in the same building (it used to be the Staybridge Suites), 3 minutes from Stratford station, 5 from Westfield and 15 from London Stadium. Every studio and suite has a kitchen, breakfast is included, and there's a 24-hour gym and a guest laundry. A 26-square-metre King Studio for two was about £252 with breakfast on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, which makes it better value than the Regency next door for anyone who wants to cook a meal or two.

The weekend runs the other way: £323 for the West Ham match Saturday. One recent Google reviewer found a tired room with air-conditioning that didn't work for a day, and called parking (in the Westfield car park) a hassle. For a family, the one-bedroom suite with a sofa bed gives you a separate living room; for a week's stay, this is the building I'd pick in Stratford.

Access: Accessible King Studio with kitchenette bookable.
Tip

Breakfast is included in every rate on Booking.com. Families should look at the one-bedroom suite with a sofa bed. Dogs under 25 kg are allowed for £30 a night. Parking is in Westfield Car Park B.

Moxy London Stratford

Moxy London Stratford on Great Eastern Road is one of the two closest hotels to the platforms: 3 minutes to Stratford station, 10 to Westfield and 23 to London Stadium, on the town-centre side of the tracks. It's Marriott's playful budget brand, so you check in at the bar, which doubles as the 24-hour front desk, and the lobby is built for hanging out. On Tuesday 10 November the cheapest room on Booking.com was an Extra Sleeper Queen with a sofa bed, sleeping up to four, at £175 non-refundable; a Premium Queen with a balcony was £178, and a plain Queen £179 with free cancellation. A Queen was the same £175 on the West Ham match Saturday.

The rooms are small and basic: open rails instead of a wardrobe, no safe and no fridge, which a recent Google reviewer spells out. Breakfast is £17 extra, and another reviewer mentions a noisy air-conditioning unit. Pick it for the station and the bar, not for a long stay.

Access: Mobility-accessible rooms with a roll-in shower; lifts; accessible entrance.
Tip

Check-in is at Bar Moxy, which is also the front desk, open 24 hours. Breakfast is £17 and not included. Rooms have open hanging rails rather than a wardrobe. Dogs £15 a night.

But it is a basic hotel. The rooms are nice but don’t come with a wardrobe or cooler. from a visitor review

The Stratford, Autograph Collection

East Village and Stratford International: 11 to 12 minutes to Westfield. North of the mall, around the old Olympic athletes' village, are Stratford's three smartest stays, all two minutes or less from Stratford International, where Southeastern's high-speed trains reach St Pancras in about 7 minutes. The Stratford fills the lower floors of Manhattan Loft Gardens, the 42-storey tower beside Stratford International, with 145 rooms designed by Space Copenhagen. It's 11 minutes to Westfield, 9 to Stratford station and 20 to London Stadium, and it's the one I'd book for a couple who want a proper bar and a restaurant worth staying in for: Kitchen E20 downstairs, the Mezzanine cocktail bar, and Kokin, a Japanese omakase counter on the seventh floor.

It's also better value than it looks. A Standard Queen was about £214 room only on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, and £222 on the match Saturday, less than the Hyatt Regency midweek. Budget for the extras, though: the hotel's own terms add a 4% discretionary service charge to room bookings and take a £50-a-night deposit, and the gym has no showers or changing rooms. The ground floor has DJs and live music at weekends. Standard rooms are 23 square metres; step up to an Executive (28, sleeps three) if you want space.

Access: 11 accessible bedrooms with roll-in or walk-in showers; three lifts; step-free ground floor; 24-hour manager on duty.
Tip

Standard rooms are 23 sq m; the Superior (25) and Executive (28, sleeps three) are bigger. Most beds split into twins. Parking is in the Stratford International car park next door (£10.50 for 24 hours, £28.75 on event days). A £50 per night deposit is taken on arrival.

Excellent hotel, great service and rooms are high quality. from a visitor review

The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Gantry London is the Hilton Curio Collection hotel on Celebration Avenue, 291 rooms over 18 floors, with a rooftop restaurant and terraces on the 18th floor, an STK steakhouse, and a Colombian coffee bar on the ground floor. It rates 4.7 on Google from 2,516 reviews, the best score of any hotel here, and it's 2 minutes from Stratford International, 12 from Westfield, 10 from Stratford station and 22 from London Stadium. On Booking.com a 26-square-metre Deluxe King was about £282 room only for Tuesday 10 November.

Like the Hyatt Regency, it's a weekday business hotel that drops at the weekend: a King Gantry Room was £217 for the West Ham match Saturday. The trade-offs are distance and parking. It's really a Stratford International hotel, so for the Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth lines you walk 10 minutes to the main station, and there's no car park (the nearest is Westfield's). Book a Deluxe room, which the hotel places on the higher floors with views across London.

Tip

Deluxe rooms are on the higher floors with views across London. Up to two pets under 15 kg for a £25 fee. No car park: the nearest is at Westfield.

Aparthotel Adagio London Stratford

Aparthotel Adagio London Stratford is next door to the Gantry, the same 2 minutes from Stratford International, 12 from Westfield and 22 from London Stadium. All 136 studios and apartments have a full kitchen with a dishwasher and induction hob, there's a 24-hour reception, a gym, a laundry and a children's play area, and 36 units are sold as family rooms. A 26-square-metre studio for two was £223.86 non-refundable on Accor's own site for Tuesday 10 November, or £246 flexible.

For a couple that's not cheap, and breakfast adds £35 for two; it rose to £300.30 for the match Saturday. Where it earns its place is with a family: the 35-square-metre apartment for four, with a separate bedroom and a sofa bed, was from £332.10 on the Tuesday, less than two hotel rooms, and under-16s eat breakfast free with a paying adult. Pets are welcome.

The hotel says parking can be reserved, but Booking.com says its car park is temporarily unavailable, with the NCP car park on International Way nearby.

Holiday Inn Express London - Stratford

Stratford High Street: 14 to 15 minutes to Westfield, 16 to 20 to the stadium. The High Street runs south from the town centre towards Bow, with the DLR beside it and the Olympic Park behind it. It's the cheaper side for a West Ham game, and the nearest to ABBA Voyage (13 to 17 minutes' walk). Holiday Inn Express London - Stratford is my value pick in Stratford: £135 for a double on Tuesday 10 November with a hot breakfast included (£180 flexible), 6 minutes from Stratford High Street DLR, 10 from Stratford station, 14 from Westfield and 16 from London Stadium. It has 153 rooms over six floors, and the double with a sofa bed costs the same as the plain double, with under-18s staying free.

It also has something almost nothing else in Stratford has: its own car park, £22 per 24 hours, though with only 15 spaces and no pre-booking. The catch is that everyone knows it's good value. It was completely sold out for the West Ham match Saturday, on its own site and on Booking.com. It's a plain chain hotel on a busy road, with no pool and a pub-style Great Room for dinner.

Access: 11 accessible rooms; lifts; accessible entrance and restaurant seating.

The double with a single sofa bed cost the same £135 on 10 Nov, and under-18s stay free with a paying guardian. Parking £22 per 24 hours, 15 spaces, first come first served (entrance off Carpenters Road).

The Westbridge Hotel London Stratford

The Westbridge Hotel is the independent with some history: it's in a Grade II-listed former coaching inn, the Yorkshire Grey, which was a pub from at least 1776. It's 3 minutes from Stratford High Street DLR, 8 from Stratford station, 15 from Westfield and 20 from London Stadium, with a 24-hour front desk, a guest lounge with the old fireplace, a courtyard and a free gym. A 17-square-metre Standard Double was £144.32 room only on its own site for Tuesday 10 November, or £172.48 with breakfast.

It went to £189.20 for the West Ham match Saturday. There's no car park, the standard doubles are compact, and the restaurant is halal, which matters if you want bacon at breakfast. It rates 4.4 on Google from 1,279 reviews, with the recent ones praising the staff and the cleaning. For £29 more than a standard double, the Deluxe with a balcony is the room I'd ask for.

Access: 4 accessible doubles with wet-room bathrooms, wide doors and vibrating fire alarms; lifts; 24-hour front desk.
Tip

A Deluxe room with a balcony was £173.36 room only on 10 Nov. No car park; a Google reviewer paid £30 for 24 hours at the car park next door. The restaurant is halal.

The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, and the breakfast was excellent. from a visitor review

Travelodge London Stratford

Travelodge London Stratford is the cheapest conventional hotel double midweek: £81.99 non-refundable on Tuesday 10 November, or £93.99 flexible. It's 5 minutes from Stratford High Street DLR, 9 from Stratford station, 15 from Westfield and 17 from London Stadium, and staffed 24 hours, with a Bar Café for breakfast and dinner.

You get what that price buys. It rates 3.7 on Google from 2,208 reviews, and recent complaints are about cleaning and unhelpful staff. Air conditioning isn't listed for its rooms. The weekend price doubles: £165.99 for the match Saturday. If you're coming for one night at the stadium or ABBA Voyage and just need a bed, it's fine; for anything longer, the newer Travelodge on the Broadway is the better room.

Access: Accessible rooms, which may be above the ground floor; three lifts nearby.
Tip

The SuperRoom (coffee machine, rain shower) was £126.99 on 10 Nov. Air conditioning isn't listed for this hotel's rooms. No car park: Westfield charges £25 for 16 to 24 hours.

Travelodge London Stratford Centre

The Broadway and Romford Road: 14 to 18 minutes to Westfield. East of the station, around the old town centre and the Stratford Centre shopping mall, are the cheaper chains. Travelodge London Stratford Centre opened in early 2026 in the converted Gredley House office block, with 151 air-conditioned rooms. It's 4 minutes from Stratford High Street DLR, 7 from Stratford station, 14 from Westfield and 25 from London Stadium. A Standard room was £92.99 non-refundable for Tuesday 10 November, and a SuperRoom with a bath and a drinks fridge only £15 more.

It was £145.99 for the West Ham match Saturday. It's still a Travelodge: housekeeping and fresh towels come on request, and one reviewer who stayed 13 nights found the premium Wi-Fi limited. But the early reviews are warm (3.9 on Google from 83 reviews), and at this price it's the budget room I'd book in Stratford.

ibis London Stratford

ibis London Stratford is a three-floor, 108-room ibis on Romford Road by the Broadway, 8 minutes from Maryland station (Elizabeth line), 9 from Stratford High Street DLR, 11 from Stratford station, 18 from Westfield and 30 from London Stadium. A Double Sweet Room was £130.90 non-refundable on Accor's site for Tuesday 10 November, or £154 flexible, and there's a FOGGS restaurant and bar open until midnight.

It's the furthest from the stadium, and it was sold out for the West Ham match Saturday. The reviews are the weak point: Accor's own guest scores put rooms and cleanliness at 6.3 out of 10, and recent guests complain of a council vehicle depot behind the hotel and late club music across the road. Ask for a front-facing room. It's a fair price for a clean bed, but the Holiday Inn Express, £4 more with breakfast, is the better night.

Snoozebox Olympic Park

Pudding Mill Lane: the closest bed to the stadium. Snoozebox Olympic Park is a hotel built from shipping containers on the south edge of the park, a minute from Pudding Mill Lane DLR (one stop from Stratford) and from the ABBA Arena, and 10 minutes from London Stadium, the shortest walk to the ground of any hotel here. It's also the cheapest: £68.48 on its own direct rate for Tuesday 10 November, or £85.60 flexible, and from £116.53 on the match Saturday. It's adults only, with a street-food bar and a DJ after-party on its terrace.

Know what you're buying. The rooms are about 7 to 8 square metres with a double bed and a single bunk, and a recent Google reviewer points out that the windows don't open; it's tight for two. The bar is right next door, though quiet hours start at 11pm, and there's no parking. For one night after a match or ABBA Voyage it's perfect. For a London holiday, book anywhere else here.

The Olympic Park and the V&A. The park itself is free to walk around. V&A East Museum on the East Bank and V&A East Storehouse at the Hackney Wick end of the park are both free and open daily from 10am. The Storehouse is a 14 to 18 minute walk from the two Hyatts, the Premier Inn and the East Village hotels.

── the quick answer

Which Stratford hotel, by traveller

Best value: the Holiday Inn Express on the High Street, £135 with breakfast, 16 minutes from the stadium.

Couples: The Stratford, for the bars and the Japanese restaurant, or the Gantry for a rooftop and a Saturday bargain.

Families: Hyatt House (kitchens, breakfast included) or the Adagio's apartments for four.

Shopping and the Tube: the Hyatt Regency, built into Westfield and 4 minutes from Stratford station, or the Moxy for less.

West Ham, one night: Snoozebox (10 minutes) or the Hyatt Regency (14); on a budget, the Holiday Inn Express (16) or Travelodge London Stratford (17).

ABBA Voyage: Snoozebox, next door, or the High Street hotels, 13 to 17 minutes' walk.

The early Eurostar or trains to Kent: the East Village hotels by Stratford International, 7 minutes from St Pancras.

Driving: the Holiday Inn Express (15 spaces, £22 a day) or The Stratford, next to the Stratford International car park.

Cheapest decent room: Travelodge London Stratford Centre, new and air-conditioned, £92.99 on a Tuesday.

── the honest trade-offs

What each part of Stratford gives up

Westfield and the station: the shortest walk to every Tube line, the mall and (from the Hyatts) the stadium; the priciest midweek room in Stratford at the Hyatt Regency, a mall for a neighbourhood, and car access that means walking your bags in.

East Village: the smartest hotels and the quietest streets, 7 minutes from St Pancras; a 10-minute walk to the main station, and no hotel car parks.

Stratford High Street: the best value, 16 to 20 minutes to the stadium and, after Snoozebox, the shortest walk to ABBA Voyage; a busy main road, and not much to do on it at night.

The Broadway and Romford Road: cheap chain rooms, including the newer of the two Travelodges; 14 to 18 minutes to Westfield, up to 30 to the stadium, and the weakest reviews.

Pudding Mill Lane: next to the ABBA Arena and 10 minutes from the stadium; container rooms of 7 to 8 square metres, and not much else around at night.

The ones you'll see on the booking sites

Urban Rest Stratford lets serviced apartments in the Coppermaker Square towers in East Village, with a residents' pool, spa and gym, but it has a three-night minimum: for 10 to 13 November a one-bedroom was from £175 a night and a two-bedroom from £230. Good for a longer stay; it can't be booked for one night.

Along Romford Road east of the Broadway there are several small independents, including the Epsilon Hotel (3.9 on Google, with recent reviews reporting a broken lift and a pest complaint) and the Viking Hotel (3.6). I'd book the chains above first. The Staybridge Suites in Westfield is now Hyatt House, and the Railway Tavern Hotel on Angel Lane is listed on Google as temporarily closed.

Prices, dates and the rest of the trip

Each price is the cheapest room for two for one night on Tuesday 10 and Saturday 21 November 2026, checked on 25 September 2026 on the hotel's own site, or on Booking.com where marked. They're room only unless they say breakfast is included.

The London trip-cost guide adds up food, transport and sights on top of the room, and if you're still choosing an area, where to stay in London weighs Stratford against the centre. If you'd rather be nearer the bars of Shoreditch and Hackney, the Shoreditch hotels guide is a short ride away on the Overground or the Central line.

── frequently asked

Frequently asked questions.

Is Stratford a good area to stay in London?
Yes, if you want a cheaper bed than the West End with fast trains into town, or you're coming for Westfield, the Olympic Park, a game at London Stadium or ABBA Voyage. Stratford station has the Central, Jubilee and Elizabeth lines, the DLR and the London Overground, so Liverpool Street is about 8 to 10 minutes away on the train and Tottenham Court Road about 14 on the Elizabeth line. It's less good for a first trip where you want to walk to Westminster and Covent Garden: you'll ride the Tube for 15 to 25 minutes each way, and the streets around the station are busy and built for shopping rather than strolling.
How far is Stratford from central London?
About 10 to 25 minutes on the train. From Stratford station, Liverpool Street is 8 to 10 minutes and Bank 11 to 12 on the Central line, and Tottenham Court Road 14 and Bond Street 16 on the Elizabeth line. Oxford Circus is 19 to 20 minutes on the Central line, and London Bridge 16 to 17 and Westminster 21 to 22 on the Jubilee line. From Stratford International, Southeastern's high-speed trains reach St Pancras in about 7 minutes.
What is the closest hotel to London Stadium?
Snoozebox Olympic Park, a container hotel by Pudding Mill Lane DLR, is a 10-minute walk from London Stadium on Google's route and a minute from the ABBA Arena. The nearest conventional hotels are the Hyatt Regency London Stratford (14 minutes) and Hyatt House London Stratford (15) in Westfield, then the cheaper Holiday Inn Express London - Stratford (16) and Travelodge London Stratford (17) on Stratford High Street.
Which hotels are closest to Westfield Stratford City?
The Hyatt Regency London Stratford and Hyatt House London Stratford are built into Westfield, 4 and 5 minutes' walk from the middle of the mall, and the Premier Inn London Stratford is on International Square at the Stratford International end, 9 minutes. Moxy London Stratford, by the station on the town-centre side, is 10 minutes, and the Stratford, the Gantry and the Adagio in East Village are 11 to 12.
Does Eurostar stop at Stratford International?
No. HS1, which runs the line, says Eurostar trains don't stop at Stratford International; it's served by Southeastern's high-speed trains, which reach St Pancras International, where you board the Eurostar, in about 7 minutes. That makes the East Village hotels (The Stratford, the Gantry and the Adagio, all 2 minutes or less from Stratford International) handy for an early Eurostar, but the King's Cross and St Pancras hotels are closer still.
