18+. Original passport, driving licence, foreign national ID card or PASS card only. No business suits, flags or glow wear. Nearest Tube: Farringdon (not open overnight); for the Night Tube, walk to Chancery Lane (Central line), about 10 minutes.
Clubs in London: The Best Nightlife, Area by Area (2026)
Fifteen London clubs that are running right now, grouped by area, each with a real ticket price, the door and ID rules, the closing time and the nearest station, including whether it's on the Night Tube. Plus what each nightlife area is like, what's closed, and how to get home safely.
London nightlife the clubs that are open now, and how to get home
If you have one big night in London, go to fabric in Farringdon: three rooms, a Friday of drum and bass and a Saturday of house and techno that runs until 7am. For something smaller and just as good, Phonox in Brixton is a one-room club two minutes from a Night Tube station. For the cheapest decent night out, Egg LDN near King's Cross is free before midnight on its Saturday house nights. For the rest of the trip, my things to do in London guide covers the sights.
London has lost a lot of clubs. Printworks shut in 2023 and hasn't reopened, Corsica Studios in Elephant & Castle held its last party in March 2026, and Oval Space in Bethnal Green has had nothing on since October 2025. XOYO closed too, but reopened under a new independent owner in January 2026. Every club below is open as of 28 September 2026, and each card gives a real ticket price for a named night, the door and ID rules, the closing time and the nearest station on the Tube (the subway), including whether that station is open on the Night Tube.
This guide is for dancing. For a drink first, my best bars in London, best pubs in London and best cocktail bars in London guides cover that, and my best rooftop bars guide covers drinks with a view. None of those bars are repeated here.
fabric
Central London: the famous names. fabric is the London club I'd pick for a first big night. It has three rooms on Charterhouse Street, a couple of minutes from Farringdon station. Fridays are shared between FABRICLIVE (drum and bass, grime, dubstep, garage) and Forms (house, techno, disco); Saturdays are house and techno; and Sundays are a weekly party called Come As You Are (CAYA).
Entry: £22.50 before midnight for FABRICLIVE on Friday 2 October 2026, rising to £39.50 for the last anytime tickets, or £16.90 after 3am. Sunday's CAYA is free before 11:30pm. Door: 18+, original ID only, and you're searched on the way in; zero tolerance on drugs. Closes: 6am on Fridays and usually 7am on Saturdays. Tube: Farringdon, but it doesn't run overnight, so walk to Chancery Lane for the Central line Night Tube. The catch: the cheap tiers go fast, so a late ticket for a big Saturday costs £34 to £40.
KOKO
KOKO, at the bottom of Camden High Street, is a gig venue most nights, but on Fridays and Saturdays its KOKO Electronic club nights run house, tech house and melodic techno until 5am. It's also one of the easiest clubs to get home from: Mornington Crescent, on the Northern line Night Tube, is directly opposite.
Entry: £29.30 before 10:30pm for Green Velvet on Friday 2 October 2026, up to £40.10 anytime, including a £2 restoration levy. Door: 19+ on club nights, and the name on the ticket has to match your ID. Closes: 5am; last entry 3am. Tube: Mornington Crescent. The catch: it has the highest starting price of the regular clubs here, and the 19+ rule catches out 18-year-olds.
Club nights are 19+. No ID, no entry: passport, photocard driving licence, foreign national ID card or PASS card, originals only, and the name on your ticket must match. Nearest Tube: Mornington Crescent (Northern line, on the Night Tube), directly opposite.
Egg LDN
Egg LDN is a Victorian warehouse up York Way behind King's Cross, with three rooms of house and techno and a garden terrace. It's the best value of the big clubs: on Saturday 3 October 2026 its House All Night Long night is free before midnight, and the Wednesday Club is free before midnight too.
Entry: free before midnight, then £10 or £15 on a Saturday house night. Door: 18+, ID scanned, and a stricter dress code than most: no hoodies, man bags or sports brands. Closes: 6am on Fridays, 7am on Saturdays. Tube: Caledonian Road on the Piccadilly line Night Tube, about 12 minutes' walk, or the 24-hour 390 bus from across the road. The catch: it's a proper walk from King's Cross, and disabled access isn't guaranteed while building work goes on.
18+. Physical photo ID scanned at the door (passport, driving licence, provisional licence or PASS card). Dress smart casual: jeans and smart trainers are fine, but no hoodies, man bags or sports brands. Nearest Tube: Caledonian Road (Piccadilly line, on the Night Tube), about 12 minutes; the 24-hour 390 bus stops opposite.
Ministry of Sound
South London. Ministry of Sound in Elephant & Castle is the club most visitors have heard of, and it's celebrating 35 years in autumn 2026. The main room is called The Box, and the Friday and Saturday nights cover house, techno, bass and drum and bass, with a student night, Milkshake, on Tuesdays.
Entry: £11.50 before 11pm for Housekeeping on Saturday 10 October 2026, or £23 anytime; big birthday nights like Andy C on 2 October run to £40.30. Door: 18+, ID scanned, and no solo entry: you need to arrive with at least one other person. No football shirts; sportswear and caps are advised against. Closes: 5am; last entry 3am. Tube: Elephant & Castle, which is closed overnight, so walk to Southwark (Jubilee) or Kennington (Northern) for the Night Tube. The catch: no re-entry, and the solo-entry ban.
18+. Photo ID scanned (photocard driving licence, passport or PASS card). No solo entry: arrive with at least one other person. No football shirts or face coverings, and tracksuits, sportswear and caps are advised against. No re-entry. Nearest Tube: Elephant & Castle (not open overnight); the nearest Night Tube stations are Southwark (Jubilee) and Kennington (Northern).
Phonox
Phonox in Brixton is one room with a Funktion-One sound system and a simple idea: one DJ, often playing all night. Fridays are a residency, where one DJ hosts four Fridays in a row, and Saturdays are all-night or extended sets across house, techno, disco and electronica. It's the club I'd pick for a smaller night that's just as good as the big names.
Entry: £25 before 11:30pm or £30 anytime for Weval playing all night on Saturday 3 October 2026; cheaper nights run £15 to £20. Door: 18+, no suits or fancy dress, and no phones on the dancefloor. Closes: 4am on Fridays, mostly 5am on Saturdays. Tube: Brixton, on the Victoria line Night Tube, two minutes away. The catch: it's a single room, and the cheap early tickets sell out almost at once.
18+. Passport, driving licence or national ID card. Jeans and trainers are fine; no suits or fancy dress. No phones or cameras on the dancefloor. Nearest Tube: Brixton (Victoria line, on the Night Tube), 2 minutes.
Electric Brixton
Electric Brixton, by Brixton's town hall, is mostly a gig venue, with club nights on some Fridays and Saturdays: UK garage, jungle, drum and bass and house. Look out for the big garage nights, like DJ EZ in November 2026.
Entry: £28 to £35 for Miss Bashful on Saturday 5 December 2026; the same day's 35 Years of The Ragga Twins daytime party is £18.40. Door: 18+, and everyone in a group shows ID. Casual dress is fine. Closes: usually 4am or 5am. Tube: Brixton, five minutes. The catch: club nights are occasional, not every weekend, so check what's on.
Club nights are 18+, and everyone shows ID (driving licence or passport, international passports accepted; Citizen and PASS cards too). Casual dress, jeans and trainers fine. No cash machine inside. Nearest Tube: Brixton (Victoria line, on the Night Tube), 5 minutes.
Venue MOT
MOT, on an industrial estate in South Bermondsey, is the most underground choice here: warehouse parties of bass, dubstep, garage, breaks and techno, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays. It's where I'd send a friend who finds the big clubs too polished.
Entry: £17.50 before 11:30pm or £23.04 anytime for Loefah on Saturday 24 October 2026. Door: 18+ on its ticket listings; bring photo ID. Closes: usually 4am. Station: South Bermondsey (National Rail, no overnight trains) is closest; Surrey Quays on the Windrush line, which runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays, is about 1 km. The catch: there's no website, just a Facebook page, so everything you need is on each night's ticket listing.
18+ on its ticket listings; bring photo ID. It has no website of its own, so check the event page before you go. Nearest station: South Bermondsey (National Rail, no overnight trains), under 10 minutes; Surrey Quays (Windrush line, runs all night Friday and Saturday) is about 1 km away.
XOYO
East London: Shoreditch, Dalston and Hackney. XOYO by Old Street closed, was bought by an independent operator, and reopened in January 2026 after a refurbishment. It now runs every week: a basement main room and a smaller ground-floor room, with cheap weeknight parties (MOTION on Mondays, Cherry on Thursdays) and promoter nights on Saturdays, mostly house.
Entry: £17 or £20 for NOVAMONDO on Saturday 3 October 2026; Monday and Thursday nights from £3.50 to about £11. Door: 18+, bags searched. Closes: 5am at weekends, 3am on weeknights. Tube: Old Street, which doesn't run overnight; walk to Shoreditch High Street for the Windrush line night service. The catch: most nights are run by outside promoters, so quality varies; pick the night rather than the club.
18+; bring photo ID. Bags are searched and the cloakroom is £3 an item. Nearest Tube: Old Street (Northern line), 2 minutes, but it's not open overnight; for the night service walk to Shoreditch High Street (Windrush line), about 10 minutes.
Village Underground
Village Underground is a converted Victorian warehouse in Shoreditch with old Tube carriages on the roof, and a new rooftop terrace since summer 2026. Weeknights are gigs; on Fridays and Saturdays promoters run house, techno, drum and bass and disco nights.
Entry: £20 before midnight or £25 anytime for Young Marco and Elkka on Saturday 10 October 2026, including a £1.50 restoration levy. Door: strictly 18+; student cards aren't accepted as ID, and no open-toed shoes. Closes: 4am or 5am. Station: Shoreditch High Street, four minutes, on the Windrush line, which runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays. The catch: it closes earlier than fabric or Egg.
Club nights are strictly 18+. Original passport, UK or EU driving licence, PASS card or EU national ID; student cards aren't accepted. No open-toed shoes. Nearest station: Shoreditch High Street (Windrush line, runs all night Friday and Saturday), 4 minutes.
Dalston Superstore
Dalston Superstore has been Dalston's queer club, bar and drag venue since 2009: DJs upstairs, a basement club on Friday and Saturday nights, and drag brunches at weekends. It's small, friendly and much cheaper than the big clubs.
Entry: paid club nights are usually £7 to £10 and usually free before 10pm; Femmme Fraiche on Friday 9 October 2026 is free before 9pm, £8 before 11pm and £10 after. Door: 18+, Challenge 25, bags searched. Closes: 4am on Fridays and Saturdays. Station: Dalston Kingsland, two minutes, but it doesn't run overnight; Dalston Junction on the Windrush line is six minutes. The catch: it holds 230 people across two floors, so expect a queue at weekends, and the basement is stairs only.
18+, and security runs Challenge 25, so carry ID. Every bag is searched, with body searches on Friday and Saturday nights. Nearest station: Dalston Kingsland (Mildmay line), 2 minutes, but it doesn't run overnight; Dalston Junction (Windrush line, all night Friday and Saturday) is 6 minutes.
Night Tales
Night Tales is a row of railway arches in Hackney with three parts: a covered, heated terrace that's free to walk into from 6pm (with pizza), a bar in one arch, and a club room with a Funktion-One system playing house, disco and soul. It's the easiest way to start early and drift into dancing.
Entry: the terrace is free; the club was £6.50 before 9pm, £9 before 10:30pm and £13 anytime for Jack Marlow on Friday 2 October 2026. Door: 18+, ID scanned. Closes: 3am; last entry 2am. Station: Hackney Central is next door, but it has no overnight trains. The catch: 3am is early for London, and it can feel more like a bar with a club attached.
18+, ID scanned, no ID no entry. The terrace is free; the club room needs a ticket from 10pm. Nearest station: Hackney Central (Mildmay line), right beside it, but there are no overnight trains, so plan a night bus or cab.
Colour Factory
Colour Factory in Hackney Wick is a warehouse club with a 700-capacity main room, a smaller mezzanine, a garden and a loft upstairs. The programme mixes house, techno, Arab and SWANA club nights and queer parties, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Entry: £20 early entry or £25 to £30 for Hitty-X on Saturday 3 October 2026; loft parties can be free before midnight, then £10. Door: 18+ at late events, ID scanned, full body searches, no re-entry. Closes: usually 4am, with last entry at 1:30am. Station: Hackney Wick, just outside, but the last westbound train on a Saturday is at 00:17. The catch: that early last entry, and you'll need a night bus or cab home.
Late events are 18+ with photo ID scanned. Bags are searched and late events have full body searches; no re-entry; cloakroom £4 an item. Nearest station: Hackney Wick (Mildmay line), just outside, but the last westbound train on a Saturday is at 00:17, so plan a night bus or cab home.
E1
The warehouses further east. E1 is a 1,600-capacity independent club in Wapping, open since 2017, playing techno, hard techno, house, trance and drum and bass on Fridays and Saturdays until 6am.
Entry: £11.50 before midnight for Nicole Moudaber playing all night on Saturday 3 October 2026, then £17.30; many promoter nights give away free tickets early and charge up to £16 later. Door: 18+, physical ID only, and tracksuits or football shirts can get you turned away. No re-entry, and the bars take cards only. Closes: 6am. Station: Wapping, five minutes, on the Windrush line, which runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays. The catch: with so many free-ticket nights, it's hard to know what you'll actually pay until you look at the event.
18+. Physical photo ID only (passport, UK driving licence, PASS card or EU national ID), no expired documents. Tracksuits and football shirts may get you refused. No re-entry, and the bars are card only. Nearest station: Wapping (Windrush line, runs all night Friday and Saturday), 5 minutes.
FOLD
FOLD in Canning Town is London's 24-hour club: techno, house and minimal in a warehouse on an industrial estate, with parties that start on Saturday night and run until Sunday afternoon, plus daytime sessions that start at 10am. For a long, serious techno night, this is the one.
Entry: £15 before 1am for Neighbourhood on Saturday 10 October 2026, then £23 to £28.80. Door: strictly 21+, physical ID mandatory, and a ticket doesn't guarantee entry. Closes: depends on the party; many run to 7am, noon or 4pm on Sunday. Station: Star Lane on the DLR is closest, but the DLR doesn't run all night; Canning Town, on the Jubilee line Night Tube, is about 10 minutes. The catch: the 21+ rule, and it's a long way from central London.
Strictly 21+, physical ID mandatory, and a ticket doesn't guarantee entry. Nearest station: Star Lane (DLR), a couple of minutes, but the DLR doesn't run all night; Canning Town (Jubilee line, on the Night Tube) is about 10 minutes.
Drumsheds
Drumsheds is what the Printworks team does now: huge events in a former IKEA at Meridian Water in Edmonton, run in seasons rather than every weekend. The autumn and winter 2026 season includes Bugged Out!, Terminal V, elrow and A State of Trance.
Entry: £52 or £57 for Terminal V on Friday 23 October 2026; £41.95 before 2pm or £56.95 for elrow on Saturday 31 October 2026. Door: mostly 18+, Challenge 25, full body and bag searches, no bags bigger than A4. Closes: Saturday day events end at 10:30pm; Friday nights at 3am. Station: no Tube. Take a train to Meridian Water, five minutes' walk, or the 192 bus, which links the venue with Tottenham Hale on the Victoria line; after a 3am Friday finish, Tottenham Hale is the nearest Night Tube station. The catch: it's more a festival day out than a club night, and last entry is early.
Mostly 18+ (some events 19+), Challenge 25, and the name on your ticket must match your ID. Full body and bag searches; no bags bigger than A4; cashless. No Tube: take a train to Meridian Water (from Liverpool Street, Stratford or Tottenham Hale), 5 minutes' walk, or the 192 bus from Tottenham Hale (Victoria line); some events add a shuttle, listed in the event's essential-info email. The venue asks you not to walk from Tottenham Hale.
Which London club, by kind of night
One big night: fabric, on a Saturday, for house and techno until 7am.
Drum and bass: FABRICLIVE on a Friday at fabric.
A smaller room, great sound: Phonox in Brixton.
Cheapest good night: Egg LDN's free-before-midnight Saturday, or Night Tales' free terrace.
Techno that goes on all day: FOLD, if you're 21 or over.
Queer nights: Dalston Superstore, or Heaven for a bigger, poppier night (see below).
The famous name: Ministry of Sound. Bring a friend; there's no solo entry.
Easiest ride home: KOKO, Phonox or Electric Brixton, all a few minutes from a Night Tube station.
London's nightlife areas, and what each is like
Soho and the West End: London's busiest bar district, and where most visitors start, but it's bars rather than clubs. For drinks, use my best bars guide. The big club nearby is Heaven, the LGBTQ+ club under the arches on Villiers Street by Charing Cross, open since 1979. Club nights are strictly 18+ with photo ID scanned. Its website currently lists its gigs rather than its club nights, so check its Instagram (@heavenlgbtclub) for the weekend's nights before you go. Charing Cross and Embankment are both on the Northern line Night Tube.
Shoreditch: the densest club area in the centre. XOYO and Village Underground are ten minutes apart, and late bars like Nightjar (see best bars) fill the gaps. It's busy, young and loud on Friday and Saturday nights. Shoreditch High Street, on the Windrush line, runs all night at weekends; Old Street doesn't.
Dalston: a few stops north, looser and cheaper than Shoreditch. Dalston Superstore is the anchor, and Ridley Road Market Bar pours until 3am from Thursday to Saturday (it's in my best bars guide). Dalston Junction is on the overnight Windrush line.
Hackney and Hackney Wick: warehouse and railway-arch clubs, Night Tales in Hackney and Colour Factory in Hackney Wick. The catch is getting home: neither Hackney Central nor Hackney Wick has overnight trains, so plan a night bus or book a cab.
Brixton: the best club area south of the river. Phonox and Electric Brixton are both within five minutes of Brixton station, which is at the end of the Victoria line and open all night on Fridays and Saturdays. That makes Brixton the easiest area on this page to get home from.
Peckham: Peckham is for late bars and rooftops, not big clubs (my best rooftop bars guide has Forza Wine). The old CLF Art Cafe club nights in the Bussey Building on Rye Lane have stopped. For a proper club in south-east London, go to MOT in South Bermondsey or head to Brixton.
Camden: gig venues and pubs, with one serious club night: KOKO's weekend electronic nights. Camden Town and Mornington Crescent are both on the Northern line Night Tube.
Vauxhall: late-night LGBTQ+ venues around the station. The Royal Vauxhall Tavern runs cabaret and club nights (it's in my best bars guide), and Fire and Lightbox on Parry Street hosts commercial and student club nights, so check the event listing first. Vauxhall station is on the Victoria line Night Tube.
Canning Town and the docks: FOLD, plus The Cause, which moved from Tottenham to 60 Dock Road and now runs big one-off parties, such as Modeselektor at Halloween on Saturday 31 October 2026 and New Year's Eve. Canning Town is on the Jubilee line Night Tube.

How London clubs work
Tickets: buy online ahead, through the link on the club's own site. Most sell in releases that get dearer as they sell out, and many have a cheaper 'entry before midnight' ticket. Some clubs sell on the door if there's space, but popular nights sell out.
ID and age: the legal drinking age is 18, but KOKO's club nights are 19+ and FOLD is 21+. Bring an original, in-date photo ID; most clubs scan it, and photocopies or photos on your phone won't work. If you're visiting from the US, bring your passport: most door policies name a passport, a UK driving licence or a PASS card and don't mention foreign licences.
Searches and rules: expect a bag search everywhere and a body search at most big clubs. Most have zero tolerance on drugs and no re-entry, and several ban sportswear, football shirts or, at fabric, business suits. Several are card only, so carry a contactless card or phone.
Cost on the night: cloakrooms are usually £3 or £4 an item. London has no tourist tax yet.
The Night Tube, night buses and cabs
The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights only, on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines, plus the Windrush line of the London Overground (through Dalston Junction, Shoreditch High Street, Whitechapel and Wapping). The Northern line runs overnight only on its Charing Cross branch, so its Bank-branch stations, including Old Street and Elephant & Castle, close. Farringdon, Hackney Central and Hackney Wick don't have overnight trains either. Night fares are off-peak, and you tap in with the same contactless card or phone. On weeknights, use night buses, which run every night.
Cabs: only black taxis, the ones with the orange TAXI light, can be hailed in the street or picked up at a rank. A minicab has to be booked, by app, phone or in a minicab office, and you should get a booking confirmation. TfL is blunt about this: an unbooked minicab is illegal and uninsured for passengers, and that includes a minicab a bouncer walks you to. Uber and other apps count as booked.
Staying safe on a night out
Drink spiking happens in London, as in any big city. Watch your drink, don't take one from a stranger, and if you or a friend suddenly feel much drunker than you should, tell the bar staff or security straight away. Many venues, Phonox among them, support Ask for Angela: ask the bar staff for 'Angela' and they'll help you get out of an uncomfortable situation discreetly.
Agree a meeting point before you go in, keep your phone charged, and plan your route home before the night starts, especially from Hackney Wick, Canning Town or South Bermondsey. Night Tube stations are staffed while trains run. To report something on the Tube, text British Transport Police on 61016; in an emergency, call 999.
Where to go next: for dinner before a night out, see my best restaurants in London, and for the sights in daylight, things to do in London. If you're still picking a base, my where to stay in London guide compares the areas; Shoreditch and Brixton put you closest to the clubs here.
