── the quick answer
Which London Bridge hotel, by traveller
First visit, on foot to the river and the market: London Bridge Hotel, opposite the station; the Premier Inn on Borough High Street or on Park Street on a budget.
Special occasion: Shangri-La The Shard in a City View room. For character for much less, the LaLiT (a Victorian grammar school) or the Dixon (an Edwardian magistrates' court).
Families: Hilton London Bankside for the indoor pool, Novotel London Bridge for four-person rooms, or London Bridge Hotel's two-bedroom apartments. Bermonds Locke or Native Bankside if you want a kitchen.
Budget: any of the four Premier Inns or the Travelodge Bermondsey, and stay on a Sunday night if you can. The ibis Styles and the Holiday Inn Express include breakfast. For a dorm bed, St Christopher's on Borough High Street is the hostel.
Trains to Gatwick, Brighton or the Eurostar: anything in the first group, one or two minutes from the platforms.
Driving: the Premier Inn London Tower Bridge (£31 a night) or the Premier Inn on Park Street (four spaces, £15), then the LaLiT (£40) or the Novotel (paid spaces for guests).
Light sleepers: the Bermondsey Square Hotel on a high floor, a high floor at London Bridge Hotel, or the courtyard side at citizenM. Avoid the Travelodge Bermondsey and anything else that backs onto the railway.
Dogs: the Dixon (£50 a stay), the Bermondsey Square Hotel (£20 a night), Bermonds Locke, Native Bankside, the Novotel or the ibis Styles; the Mercure allows pets in its public areas.
── the honest trade-offs
What each part of London Bridge gives up
The Shard and the station: the shortest walk to trains and the market, and the highest weeknight prices. The station concourse is crowded at rush hour.
Tooley Street by Tower Bridge: the two best buildings and Tower Bridge in three or four minutes; ten to 15 minutes to Borough Market, and a Tube ride from the station for everything west.
Bermondsey Street and Tower Bridge Road: quieter nights, good neighbourhood restaurants, kitchens and the cheapest Sundays; a ten-minute walk to any Tube, and some rooms back onto the railway.
Borough High Street and Borough Market: the market on your doorstep and two Tube lines within five minutes; market-day crowds, and the Premier Inns are functional rather than charming.
Bankside and Southwark Bridge Road: Tate Modern, the Globe and the river path, plus the Jubilee line at Southwark for Westminster and the West End; 10 to 17 minutes from London Bridge station, and the hotels are mostly chains.

The ones you'll see on the booking sites
Real, open, and not ones I'd pick over the hotels above: the Travelodge London Central Southwark on Union Street (£149.99 on the Tuesday, £59.99 on the Sunday, but it sits beside a railway bridge and holds only 3.5 on Google across more than 2,500 reviews, with train noise and cleaning the recurring complaints); Marlin Apartments Empire Square on Long Lane, four minutes from Borough station (one-bedroom apartments of 48 to 53 sq m with full kitchens and underground parking at £30 a day, but no air conditioning and weekly cleaning only); and, on Blackfriars Road at the western edge, the ibis London Blackfriars and The Hoxton, Southwark (192 rooms, a rooftop seafood restaurant, four minutes from Southwark station but 21 from London Bridge station), which belong with the South Bank. St Christopher's Inn London Bridge - The Village on Borough High Street is the area's big hostel, from about £64 on Booking.com on the Sunday; the LSE's Bankside House on Sumner Street is a student residence that lets rooms to visitors outside term time.
Two groups of hotels often appear in searches for London Bridge or Tower Bridge but belong to other areas. Across the river on the north side of Tower Bridge are the Tower Hotel, citizenM Tower of London, the hub by Premier Inn Tower Bridge, Four Seasons Ten Trinity Square, the Leonardo Royal, the DoubleTree and the Hotel Indigo Tower Hill; they're a City of London stay, closer to the Tower but a Tube or a walk over the bridge from Borough Market. West of Blackfriars Road, Sea Containers and the Bankside Hotel are South Bank hotels.

Prices and timing
Every price here is for two adults in the cheapest double for one night, checked in September 2026 for Tuesday 10 and Sunday 15 November 2026. The Premier Inn, Travelodge and Bermondsey Square Hotel figures come from their own booking engines on 23 September; the rest are Booking.com prices from 18 September. They're for comparing hotels, not quotes, and London has no tourist tax on top (yet).
The pattern to exploit is the working week. London Bridge's rates peak Monday to Thursday, drop on Saturday at most hotels, and fall by half or more on Sunday night, so a Saturday-to-Monday stay costs far less than Tuesday to Thursday. Across London, the Christmas-lights weeks from mid-November, the summer holidays and the Wimbledon fortnight are the dear stretches, and January and February the cheapest.
