Where to Stay in Knightsbridge, Chelsea & Belgravia: The Best Hotels (2026)

The 26 Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea hotels I'd book, from the grand hotels by Hyde Park to Sloane Square townhouses and rooms under £250, each with a dated off-peak rate, walking minutes to Harrods and to Sloane Square, and one honest catch.

Where to stay in Knightsbridge, Chelsea & Belgravia grand hotels, Chelsea townhouses and a few honest bargains

Stay here if you want Harrods, Hyde Park and the Sloane Street shops on foot and a properly quiet street to come back to. This corner of south-west London has a thick run of luxury hotels, and it goes to bed early. My short answer: Mandarin Oriental or the Berkeley for the full Knightsbridge splurge, the Cadogan or Beaverbrook Town House for something smaller on Sloane Street, 11 Cadogan Gardens or San Domenico House for a Chelsea townhouse, and Zedwell, Millennium or Sloane Place if you want the postcode for under £230. Skip it if you want late bars, cheap dinners or a short walk to the West End theatres. The where to stay in London guide compares it with the other central areas, and the Mayfair hotels guide covers the grand hotels on the far side of Hyde Park Corner.

The page starts with the grand hotels along Knightsbridge and around Hyde Park Corner, then Sloane Street and Belgravia, then the townhouse hotels from Beaufort Gardens down to Cadogan Gardens, then everything from about £150 to £400 a night, and finally the riverside edge at Chelsea Harbour. Every hotel gets its walking minutes to two anchors, Harrods (by Knightsbridge station on the Piccadilly line, the direct line to Heathrow) and Sloane Square station (District and Circle lines, at the top of the King's Road), plus its nearest subway station (the Tube), a Google rating, one honest trade-off and an 'ask for' tip. Hotels in Victoria and Pimlico, and most of those by the South Kensington museums, are covered in their own area guides; the Rembrandt, opposite the V&A and nine minutes from Harrods, is the exception.

A word on the prices. Every rate is for one off-peak midweek night, Tuesday 10 November 2026, for two people, checked in September 2026, mostly Booking.com's public rate (members often see less) and where marked the hotel's own booking engine. They include 20 per cent VAT, and London has no tourist tax yet. Rates climb hard in the summer holidays, the Christmas-lights weeks from mid-November, and the week of the Chelsea Flower Show in late May, when rooms near Sloane Square go early; book six months out for that week. January and February are the cheapest time to come.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London

The grand hotels: Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner. The first six are the big names on or just off Knightsbridge, between Hyde Park Corner and the Brompton Road end, with the park across the road. This is where you pay four figures for the building, the spa and the service. All six were £780 to £1,200 a night on an off-peak Tuesday in November. The Piccadilly line runs along the top, with Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner stations one stop apart.

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is the one I'd pick if I could only have one Knightsbridge night. It opened in 1889 as a gentlemen's club, became a hotel in 1902, and sits with Hyde Park on one side and Knightsbridge station a minute from the door on the other. It has 141 rooms and 40 suites, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (the hotel says it holds two Michelin stars), afternoon tea in The Rosebery, a 17-metre indoor pool and a spa. Harrods is six minutes on foot and Sloane Square 17. Google has it at 4.7 from about 2,770 reviews, and dogs and cats are welcome.

The catch is what the lead-in room looks at. The Superior Room that Booking.com offered for £973 on Tuesday 10 November is 34 square metres and faces the inner courtyard; the hotel's own site listed an average of about £1,330 for that room type (undated), so compare the two for your dates. The pool is 17 metres with two lanes, fine for a swim but not a long one. If you want a park view, ask when you book and get it in writing. Connecting family rooms are available.

Access: Step-free access with lifts to all floors, per the hotel
Tip

The 34 sq m Superior faces the inner courtyard, so ask what your room looks at before you pay for it. Knightsbridge station (Piccadilly line) is a one-minute walk.

The service was fantastic and the rooms were absolutely stunning. from a visitor review

The Berkeley

The Berkeley is the luxury hotel for people who find the old grand hotels a bit stiff. It sits on Wilton Place, on the Belgravia side of Knightsbridge, with a heated rooftop pool open to hotel guests in spring and summer, Cedric Grolet's patisserie counter, La Môme's Riviera-style restaurant and a bar and terrace. Every stay includes Surrenne, Maybourne's four-floor wellness club with a 22-metre lap pool, so you get a pool in winter too. Knightsbridge station (Piccadilly line) is five minutes on foot, Harrods ten, Sloane Square 17. It holds a 2026 Forbes Five-Star rating, and Google has it at 4.6 from about 2,000 reviews.

The rooftop pool is the thing to understand before you book. The hotel runs it seasonally, spring and summer, so a November stay gets Surrenne's indoor pool instead. The lead-in Superior Room (about 37 square metres) was £918 room only on the hotel's own engine for Tuesday 10 November on the non-refundable rate, £1,080 flexible, and a discretionary 5 per cent service charge goes on the bill. As one Google reviewer summed it up, the "rooftop pool left me in shock". The Emory, its all-suite sister, is round the corner.

Tip

The Superior and Deluxe rooms face the church or the courtyard; the park view is a suite. If the rooftop pool is the reason to book, go between spring and late summer. Knightsbridge station is five minutes away.

rooftop pool left me in shock from a visitor review

The Lanesborough

The Lanesborough is the old-school grand hotel of the group: a Regency mansion on Hyde Park Corner, with a butler assigned to every room and suite around the clock, which the hotel says no other London hotel offers. The Lanesborough Grill does modern British food under Shay Cooper, the afternoon tea is an event in itself, the Library Bar is dark and clubby, and The Garden Room is a cigar lounge. Guests get the Lanesborough Club & Spa. Hyde Park Corner station is about a minute's walk, Harrods 13 and Sloane Square 21. It's 4.7 on Google from about 1,790 reviews.

You pay a lot per square metre. The Deluxe Room Booking.com offered at £1,135 for Tuesday 10 November is 26 square metres; the Executive at 32 and the Premier at 38 feel more like the price. Hyde Park Corner is a giant roundabout, so the traffic is right outside. The Lanesborough sits on the Belgravia side of it; Four Seasons and the other Park Lane hotels across the junction are covered with Mayfair.

Tip

The Deluxe (26 sq m) is the entry room; the Park View Deluxe is slightly smaller at 24 sq m but looks at Hyde Park, and it's the one I'd ask for. Hyde Park Corner station (Piccadilly line) is about a minute from the door.

we were deeply touched by the solicitousness of the entire staff. from a visitor review

The Peninsula London

The Peninsula is newly built, a block beside Wellington Arch with interiors by Peter Marino. Even the lead-in Deluxe Room is 51 to 53 square metres, bigger than the entry rooms at Mandarin Oriental (34), the Berkeley (about 37) or the Lanesborough (26). There's a 25-metre indoor pool, a spa on the lower floor, afternoon tea with live music in The Lobby, Canton Blue for Cantonese food, and the rooftop Brooklands Bar, with Brooklands by Claude Bosi, which the hotel says has two Michelin stars. Hyde Park Corner station is three minutes away, Harrods 17 and Sloane Square 21. It's 4.6 on Google from about 1,040 reviews.

It has one of the highest lead-in rates in Knightsbridge, £1,190 on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, £1,400 flexible. You're at the Hyde Park Corner end, a 17-minute walk from Harrods. Service is the one thing reviewers split on: one 1-star guest wrote that "the service does not reach the standard of Peninsula" after a room-type change at check-in, so confirm your room category in writing. The Family Moments offer takes 50 per cent off a connecting room.

VAT, checked 24 Sep 2026; £1,400 flexible Hours: Peninsula Time: arrive from 6am and stay until 10pm, complimentary (the hotel pairs it with booking direct)
Tip

The hotel promotes booking direct alongside Peninsula Time, which lets you arrive from 6am and leave at 10pm at no charge, which suits an overnight flight in. Deluxe Rooms look over the courtyard; for Belgravia streets ask for a Premier, or a Grand Premier Terrace Room for a balcony.

The Emory

The Emory is Maybourne's all-suite hotel, 61 suites and studios in Old Barrack Yard, the lane behind the Berkeley. The rate includes more than usual: English breakfast in the suite or at Jean-Georges' abc kitchens, a stocked minibar, a 24-hour butler, unpacking on arrival, Surrenne and its indoor pool, and car drop-offs within two miles. There's a rooftop bar and a cigar shop. Hyde Park Corner is four minutes on foot, Knightsbridge five, Harrods ten, Sloane Square 21. It has 4.7 on Google, though from only about 145 reviews, one of which calls it "one of the most overall complete hotels we’ve experienced".

At £1,200 for a Courtyard Studio on Tuesday 10 November, flexible with breakfast, it's the highest lead-in rate on the page's grand-hotel stretch, but not far off the Berkeley's £1,160 with breakfast on its own engine. The Courtyard Studio looks into the courtyard rather than out. Being small and new, it has less going on in the lobby than the big hotels; the Berkeley's bars are a minute away.

one of the most overall complete hotels we’ve experienced from a visitor review

Bvlgari Hotel London

Bvlgari Hotel London is the sleek, jewel-box option, on Knightsbridge between Harrods and Hyde Park. Its best feature is below ground: a 25-metre colonnaded pool clad in Vicenza stone, inside the Bvlgari Spa. There's Sette and Nolita Social for Italian food, The Lounge, a ballroom and a private cinema. Harrods is six minutes on foot and Knightsbridge station four, Sloane Square 20. Google has it at 4.7 from about 1,390 reviews, and reviewers single out the spa.

It was the cheapest of the six grand hotels on Tuesday 10 November, £780 for a Superior King Room on Booking.com, but the flexible rate on the hotel's Booking.com page was £918, and breakfast was £36 on top. It's a modern, glossy hotel rather than a historic one. If you want old-world, the Lanesborough or the Cadogan suit better; if you want a big indoor pool with no season to worry about, this one's hard to beat.

The £780 rate is the cheapest of the grand hotels, but the flexible rate was £918 with breakfast extra, so check which one you're looking at. Knightsbridge station is four minutes away.

The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel

Sloane Street and Belgravia. Sloane Street runs south from Knightsbridge to Sloane Square past Chanel, Prada and the Cadogan Place gardens, with Belgravia's white stucco squares to the east. Most of the five are smaller than the Hyde Park Corner hotels (Carlton Tower is the exception), and most give you a key to a private garden.

The Cadogan is the one with history. It opened on Sloane Street in 1887, was refurbished and became a Belmond hotel in 2019, and has 54 rooms and suites, one of them named Oscar. As one Google reviewer put it, "this was where they arrested Oscar Wilde". Willett's does all-day British food, the Drawing Room serves drinks, dogs get their own room-service menu, and guests can use the Cadogan Place Gardens and their tennis courts. It sits halfway down Sloane Street: Harrods nine minutes, Sloane Square station nine, Knightsbridge eight. Its Google rating, 4.8 from about 440 reviews, is as high as any in Knightsbridge or Chelsea.

What it doesn't have: a pool (there's one treatment room and a 24/7 gym) or parking. The Superior Queen Room offered at £860 for Tuesday 10 November is about 26 square metres; the hotel's own site puts its Superior and Deluxe rooms between 26 and 35, so a Deluxe is worth the step up if you're staying more than a night. With only 15 rooms (the rest are suites), book early.

Tip

Borrow a racket: guests get keys to Cadogan Place Gardens across the road, tennis courts included. The hotel has no car park, so don't drive. Knightsbridge and Sloane Square stations are both about eight to nine minutes' walk.

Cadogan Hotel, this was where they arrested Oscar Wilde interesting from a visitor review

Jumeirah Carlton Tower

Jumeirah Carlton Tower is the tall one on Cadogan Place, and its pitch since 1961 has been the view from the upper floors. It has 186 rooms and suites, La Maison Ani for French-Mediterranean food, The Chinoiserie for afternoon tea, and The Peak Fitness Club and Spa with a naturally lit indoor pool that guests use free. You also get a key to the Cadogan Place gardens. Knightsbridge station is six minutes, Harrods nine and Sloane Square 12. Google has it at 4.6 from about 1,630 reviews.

It's a big modern block rather than a townhouse, and the entry rooms are compact: the hotel's Superior is 25 square metres. The lowest rate on Tuesday 10 November was £811 on Booking.com, £861 with breakfast. If you want a pool and the skyline, it delivers both; if you want character, the Cadogan across the gardens has more of it.

The Superior is 25 sq m with a city view; for the famous skyline, ask for a high floor. A Junior Suite can connect to a Superior for families. Knightsbridge station is six minutes' walk.

In the heart of knightsbridge and near Harrods. Beautiful and chic hotel from a visitor review

COMO The Halkin

COMO The Halkin is the calm, modern one: 41 rooms and suites in a Georgian-fronted building on Halkin Street, a block from Belgrave Square. The Halkin Bar does all-day food including COMO's healthy menu, there's a small gym, and guests get the Belgrave Square gardens and tennis courts. It holds one Michelin Key (2025), according to the hotel. Hyde Park Corner station is six minutes' walk, Harrods 16 and Sloane Square 19. It's 4.7 on Google from about 450 reviews.

At £526 for a Garden Room on Tuesday 10 November, it's one of the cheapest luxury rooms in Belgravia, and the rooms are a decent size (the hotel's City Rooms are 27 to 33 square metres). The trade-offs: no spa or pool on site (you walk ten minutes to its sister hotel for those), breakfast is extra, and it's a long way from Harrods by Knightsbridge standards. Children under 13 get an extra bed free.

Tip

The Hari

The Hari is the Belgravia hotel with a social life. It has 85 rooms designed by Tara Bernerd, il Pampero for Italian food, a garden terrace with a retractable glass roof and heaters that works all year, a 24-hour gym and a relaxed attitude to dogs, which are welcome in the bar and on the terrace. It sits on Chesham Place, roughly halfway between the two anchors: Sloane Square ten minutes, Harrods 12, Knightsbridge station nine. It's 4.5 on Google from about 1,170 reviews.

The King Deluxe offered at £522 on Tuesday 10 November is 23 to 27 square metres, a fair size for the money here. Where reviewers complain, it's about service rather than rooms: one Google reviewer found the room nice but wrote that "the service and attention to detail feel more like a 4-star property". There's no spa or pool. Book it for the terrace and the location, not for five-star polish.

Tip

Book direct for 10 per cent off and a free non-alcoholic minibar. Ask for a room overlooking Chesham Place garden. Knightsbridge station is nine minutes' walk and Sloane Square ten.

Beaverbrook Town House

Beaverbrook Town House is two restored Georgian townhouses at the Sloane Square end of Sloane Street, turned into 14 rooms and suites, the suites named after London theatres, with more than 500 artworks on the walls. Downstairs is the Fuji Grill, a Japanese restaurant with a sushi bar, and Sir Frank's Bar, which does a Japanese afternoon tea. Sloane Square station is six minutes on foot and Harrods 12. Google has it at 4.8 from about 180 reviews.

The entry Deluxe King is a large bedroom rather than a suite, and at £960 on Tuesday 10 November for 26 to 32 square metres it's pricey, though breakfast is included and the Deluxe has a super-king bed. The restaurant and terrace are open to the public and busy in the evening, and one reviewer on the terrace was surprised by an unannounced £1 charge per split bill. For a special weekend at the Sloane Square end of Sloane Street, it's my pick.

Tip

Breakfast is included in the Deluxe rate. The Fuji Grill and Sir Frank's Bar are open to non-residents, so book a table for dinner. Sloane Square station is six minutes' walk.

The Egerton House Hotel

The townhouse hotels. South of Brompton Road the big hotels give way to terraces of red-brick and white-stucco houses, and to the hotels built inside them: small, personal, with a drawing room instead of a lobby. They run from Beaufort Gardens behind Harrods down to Cadogan Gardens by Sloane Square. Rooms are smaller than at the grand hotels, lifts are not a given, and the service is the reason to come.

The Egerton House Hotel is the one I'd book for service. It's a red-brick Victorian townhouse from 1843 on a quiet terrace, with 28 rooms, a bar known for its martinis, and afternoon tea at £75 a head. The hotel holds a Forbes Five-Star rating, and guests can use the Wellness Club at its sister hotel, The Milestone. Harrods is six minutes away and Sloane Square station 20. It's 4.7 on Google from about 430 reviews.

The room sizes are the catch: the Classic Double is 16 square metres, and the Deluxe Queen that Booking.com offered at £535 on Tuesday 10 November is 22. The hotel says the historic building limits step-free access. Pets are allowed at £50 a night, and there's a doggy afternoon tea if you want one.

Tip

Afternoon tea is £75 a head (£94 with champagne) and the martinis are the house speciality. Harrods is six minutes' walk; for the Tube, South Kensington (9 minutes) is closer than Knightsbridge.

Knightsbridge Hotel

Knightsbridge Hotel is a Firmdale hotel, which means Kit Kemp's bright, pattern-heavy rooms, in a brick townhouse on Beaufort Gardens, a cul-de-sac behind Harrods. There are 44 rooms, a drawing room and library that serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and cream tea, an honesty bar and 24-hour room service. It's fully air-conditioned and good with children (cots, children's menus, milk and cookies at bedtime). Harrods is four minutes on foot, Knightsbridge station eight and Sloane Square 19. It's 4.6 on Google from about 200 reviews.

There's no restaurant as such, and the entry Double Room that Booking.com offered at £420 for Tuesday 10 November is only about 17 square metres. For two people with luggage, the Luxury Room at £498 is the sensible booking. Small dogs stay for £35 a night.

Tip

The Double is about 17 sq m; the Luxury Room (about 25 sq m) was £78 more and is the better room for two with suitcases. Harrods is a four-minute walk, and Knightsbridge station eight.

The Capital Hotel, Apartments & Townhouse

The Capital is the townhouse-scale hotel on Basil Street, a few doors from Harrods. It has about 72 rooms, including a set of Townhouse rooms, plus apartments, and Tom Brown at The Capital, a seafood restaurant the hotel says has a Michelin star. Guests can book La Prairie's treatment rooms inside Harrods. Knightsbridge station is three minutes on foot, Harrods five and Sloane Square 15. It's 4.3 on Google from about 500 reviews, and the hotel says it spent the past year renovating rooms and public spaces.

A 20 square metre Standard Queen was £385 on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, well under its neighbours. Reviewers knock the breakfast ("completely overpriced for what was offered", as one put it) and note the hotel is split across buildings, so you may see little of the staff. There's no pool and pets aren't allowed. For a townhouse-style hotel five minutes from Harrods at under £400, it's the one.

Tip

Skip the £30 breakfast and use Harrods Food Hall five minutes away. Valet parking is £75 a day. Knightsbridge station is three minutes' walk.

11 Cadogan Gardens

11 Cadogan Gardens is a townhouse hotel a few minutes from Sloane Square, with 56 individually decorated rooms, Hans' Bar & Grill for all-day British food, the Chelsea Bar and a 24-hour gym. It's a Relais & Châteaux member, one of two in London according to the hotel, and it takes dogs. Guests get a key to the private gardens outside. Sloane Square station is six minutes on foot and Harrods 14. It's 4.5 on Google from about 400 reviews.

The lead-in Petite Double was £465 on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, and at about 15 square metres it's small for that price. There's no spa or parking, and the Chelsea Bar takes walk-ins from 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday. For character on a quiet square, it's the pick of the Chelsea townhouses; for space, go up a category.

Tip

Petite Doubles are 15 sq m and look over the gardens or rooftops; they're fine for a night, cramped for longer. Guests get a key to the private Cadogan Gardens. Sloane Square station is six minutes' walk; there's no parking.

The Chelsea Townhouse

The Chelsea Townhouse is the newer sister of 11 Cadogan Gardens, across three Victorian townhouses at 26 Cadogan Gardens, with 36 rooms and suites, a Garden Room for breakfast, brunch and evening drinks, and access to its sister's gym and restaurant around the corner. Dogs are welcome. Sloane Square is five minutes on foot and Harrods 15. It's 4.3 on Google from about 160 reviews.

The lead-in room is the thing to avoid. The Chelsea Cosy that Booking.com showed at £570 for Tuesday 10 November is about 9 square metres with an internal view, and a Google reviewer called one room "so tiny and definitely not worth the amount of money paid". The hotel was running 30 per cent off selected stays to mid-December, so check its own site before booking anything. Book a larger category or book elsewhere.

Tip

Do not book the Chelsea Cosy for two unless you've seen the size: 9 sq m with an internal view. A Chelsea King or Double is the real room. Sloane Square station is five minutes' walk.

San Domenico House

San Domenico House is the antique-filled one: 19 rooms and suites on Draycott Place, a quiet residential street off Sloane Square, with four-poster beds in some rooms, 18th-century Italian and English paintings, air-conditioning and a new honesty bar on the fourth floor. There's no restaurant, but room service covers breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. Sloane Square station is six minutes on foot and Harrods 17. It's 4.7 on Google from about 320 reviews.

The Deluxe Double was £379 on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, good value for a Chelsea townhouse, and the hotel's own site offers 10 per cent off with a code. The trade-off is the building: a 3-star reviewer described plenty of stairs even with the small lift, and a few worn fittings, calling it "very nice 4 star or very low quality five star". Not one for anyone who struggles with steps.

At Sloane

At Sloane is the London outpost of the Paris Costes style, 30 bedrooms on Sloane Gardens with interiors by the French designer François-Joseph Graf. The feel is a Paris apartment rather than a London townhouse: a sixth-floor dining room with views over London that the hotel says serves 24/7, and a hidden bar open late. Sloane Square station is next door, and Harrods 18 minutes' walk. Google has it at 4.4 from about 360 reviews.

The lowest rate on Tuesday 10 November was £600 for a Double Room on Booking.com, and Booking.com lists no room size, so ask before booking. It's also a destination bar and restaurant, which means non-residents in the evening, and one diner reported a rude host downstairs even though the staff upstairs were welcoming. Book it for the style and the position on Sloane Square.

The sixth-floor dining room serves around the clock and the secret bar stays open late. Sloane Square station is next door, under a minute's walk.

The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel

Rooms from about £150 to £400. Knightsbridge and Chelsea don't do cheap, but these seven give you the postcode for less. Two are near-luxury hotels at a discount, three are small, honest Chelsea or Knightsbridge bases, one is a big traditional hotel by the museums, and one is a pod. Book these if you want to spend the money in the shops rather than the room.

The Park Tower Knightsbridge is the round tower next to Harvey Nichols, now a Marriott Luxury Collection hotel, with circular rooms and views over London. The Hyde Bar does breakfast to dinner, afternoon tea is served in the Knightsbridge Lounge from 2pm to 6pm, and there's a terrace. Knightsbridge station is two minutes away, Harrods seven and Sloane Square 17. It's 4.0 on Google from about 1,230 reviews, the lowest of the Knightsbridge luxury hotels.

It was £398 for an Executive Room with a city view on Tuesday 10 November, and £530 flexible, about half the price of the grand hotels on the same street. The tower isn't pretty from outside and the rating suggests it can feel like a big corporate hotel. Its best feature is the view, so ask for a high floor on the park side.

Access: The hotel lists disability-accessible rooms
Tip

Ask for a high floor facing north for Hyde Park; the entry Executive Room is city view. Knightsbridge station is two minutes' walk, and it's a Marriott hotel if you collect points.

Sloane Square Hotel

Sloane Square Hotel is the independent hotel on the south side of the square, and for most people it's the sensible Chelsea base: the station is a two-minute walk, the King's Road starts at the corner and Sloane Street runs north to Knightsbridge. Guests get a complimentary cream tea, there's a hidden basement bar, The Knox, and the Club rooms take small dogs. Harrods is 16 minutes on foot. Google has it at 4.3 from about 510 reviews, and the location is what reviewers praise first.

Be careful which room you book. The cheapest, at £236 non-refundable on the hotel's own engine for Tuesday 10 November (£295 flexible), is a 14 square metre Small Double with a small double bed, really a room for one; for a couple, the 20 square metre Double at £320 is the one to pay for. One recent 2-star reviewer had to change rooms three times over the air-conditioning and found the square noisy with the window open, so ask for a church-side room in summer. The hotel doesn't say whether there's a lift.

Access: Sloane Square station has no step-free access
Tip

The 14 sq m Small Double is really for one person. For two, book the 20 sq m Double and ask for a bay window over the square, or the church side if you want quiet. Sloane Square station is a two-minute walk.

Sloane Place

Sloane Place is a new, smart small hotel on Lower Sloane Street, four minutes' walk south of Sloane Square, with the Hideaway Bar and a new neighbourhood bistro, Bistro 1922, which the hotel lists as opening on 5 October. Dogs stay for £30 each and a cot is free. Harrods is 21 minutes away, the longest walk of the Sloane Square hotels, but the King's Road and the Royal Hospital, home of the Chelsea Flower Show, are close. It's 4.4 on Google from about 170 reviews.

It was £229 on Booking.com for a Cosy double on Tuesday 10 November, and the hotel's own pre-paid rate takes 10 per cent off and adds breakfast. The Cosy rooms are 13 to 15 square metres, and reviewers say the rooms are on the small side; one noted there was no fridge. It's connected with the Sloane Club, whose facilities are for members only.

Sydney House Chelsea

Sydney House Chelsea is a small townhouse hotel on Sydney Street, between the Fulham Road and the King's Road, the cheapest Chelsea townhouse room I'd book. South Kensington station is five minutes away, which puts the museums closer than Harrods (17 minutes) or Sloane Square (18). Breakfast is served each morning. It's 4.3 on Google from about 150 reviews.

The Deluxe Double was £244 non-refundable on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, £259 flexible, and at about 15 square metres it's small. Reviews are mixed on the details: one 2-star guest found "The rooms are tiny" with a small shower and slow breakfast, while a 3-star one summed it up as "Small but nice. Good breakfast. Clean and tidy." There's no evening restaurant.

The Rembrandt

The Rembrandt is the big traditional hotel of this group, directly opposite the V&A on Thurloe Place: 194 rooms run by Sarova, with lifts to every floor, air conditioning, a carvery, afternoon tea in the 1606 conservatory lounge and a 24-hour desk. The V&A is four minutes' walk, the Natural History Museum six, South Kensington station five, Harrods nine and Sloane Square 20. It's 4.4 on Google from about 2,800 reviews.

On the hotel's own site a Classic Double was £209.93 non-refundable for Tuesday 10 November, with breakfast and a drink included (£264 flexible). Classic rooms start at 15 square metres and the hotel says sizes vary, and two recent Google reviewers found the rooms showing their age. The pool, gym and sauna aren't in the hotel: they're at the Aquilla health club next door, at £15 a person a day, with no step-free access.

Access: Lifts to all floors and ramped, wheelchair-accessible public areas; the Aquilla health club next door has no step-free access
Tip

Classic rooms start at 15 sq m and vary in size, so a couple wanting space should book an Executive (from 20 sq m, £225.84 non-refundable that night). Families can ask for one of the 19 interconnecting rooms. South Kensington station is a five-minute walk.

Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge

Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge is the straightforward chain hotel at the top of Sloane Street, two minutes from Knightsbridge station, seven from Harrods and 13 from Sloane Square, a short walk from Harvey Nichols. It's a big, busy hotel with more than 4,000 Google reviews at 4.4, the most reviewed hotel in the area, and reviewers mention the staff by name.

It was £222 for an 18 square metre Standard Double on Tuesday 10 November, non-refundable, and £252 flexible, which makes it the cheapest proper hotel room on Knightsbridge itself. The trade-off is character: expect a chain hotel room, not a townhouse.

Tip

At 18 sq m the Standard Double is compact, and breakfast is £20 extra; you're two minutes from Knightsbridge station, so a café breakfast on Sloane Street is an easy alternative.

Zedwell Knightsbridge

Zedwell Knightsbridge is the honest budget option, and the cheapest room in Knightsbridge by some way. It's a pod hotel: one room type, the Cocoon 2, windowless by design, soundproofed, with an en-suite rainfall shower, filtered air and free Wi-Fi. The address is the point: Knightsbridge station is three minutes away, Harrods seven, Sloane Square 18 and Hyde Park a few minutes further. It's 4.4 on Google from about 240 reviews.

It was £157 a night on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, with free cancellation until a few days before. There's no restaurant, no windows and not much space, so it suits a short shopping trip or a solo traveller better than a week's holiday. There's luggage storage if you arrive early.

Every room is windowless by design; if that bothers you, book something else. Use the south-side exit of Knightsbridge station, about three minutes' walk, and the Piccadilly line to Heathrow takes about 40 to 45 minutes.

Great location, clean and tidy room. Comfortable bed will definitely book again from a visitor review

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa

The riverside edge: Chelsea Harbour. Where Chelsea meets Fulham on the Thames, the marina development at Chelsea Harbour has an all-suite hotel that is far cheaper per square metre than anything near Sloane Square. The catch is distance: the Chelsea Harbour Hotel is 43 minutes' walk from Sloane Square and 51 from Harrods, and the nearest station, Imperial Wharf, is on the London Overground rather than the Tube (one stop to West Brompton for the District line).

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa has only suites, 154 of them plus four penthouses, with views over the marina and the river, a spa and health club, The Anchor restaurant and bar, and on-site parking. The Chelsea King Suite was £216 on Booking.com for Tuesday 10 November, and at up to 57 square metres it's one of the biggest rooms in Chelsea for the money. Imperial Wharf station is seven minutes away. It's 4.1 on Google from about 2,500 reviews.

Reviews split on the upkeep: one guest wrote "Our room was HUGE", another called the spa "old run down". The area is quiet and residential, with little to do in the evening, and you'll take a bus or the Overground for almost everything. Families who'd rather have a sitting room than a Sloane Street address are the people this suits.

── the quick answer

Which hotel, by traveller

A once-in-a-lifetime splurge: Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, or the Lanesborough if you want a butler and old-school grandeur.

Design and a pool: the Berkeley in summer for the rooftop pool, Bvlgari or the Peninsula for a 25-metre indoor pool any time of year.

Small and personal: Egerton House for service, the Cadogan for history, San Domenico House for antiques at a lower price.

Families: the Peninsula or Mandarin Oriental for connecting rooms, Knightsbridge Hotel for a Kit Kemp townhouse that welcomes children, or a suite at Chelsea Harbour on a budget. By the museums, the Rembrandt has 19 interconnecting rooms.

Shopping at Harrods: Knightsbridge Hotel, the Capital or Zedwell, all within seven minutes' walk.

The King's Road and the Flower Show: At Sloane, Sloane Square Hotel or Sloane Place.

Under £250 near Harrods or Sloane Square: Zedwell (£157), Millennium Knightsbridge (£222), Sloane Place (£229), Sloane Square Hotel (£236) or Sydney House (£244), and the Rembrandt (£209.93 with breakfast) by the museums. Further out, the Chelsea Harbour Hotel (£216 for a suite).

── the honest trade-offs

What each corner gives up

Hyde Park Corner (the Lanesborough, the Peninsula, the Emory): the park, the grandest hotels and the Piccadilly line, but a 13 to 17 minute walk from Harrods and heavy traffic round the junction.

Knightsbridge and Brompton Road (Mandarin Oriental, Bvlgari, the Capital, Knightsbridge Hotel): Harrods and Harvey Nichols on the doorstep, but the pavements are crowded with shoppers by day and there are few pubs or cheap places to eat.

Sloane Street and Belgravia (the Cadogan, Carlton Tower, the Hari): private garden keys and quiet stucco squares, but you're up to ten minutes from the Tube and further from the sights.

Sloane Square and Chelsea (the townhouses, At Sloane): the King's Road and the District and Circle lines to Westminster, but small rooms, stairs and a longer walk to Harrods.

Chelsea Harbour: a suite for the price of a Sloane Square double, but no Tube and nothing much outside the door.

── before you book

Prices, sizes and timing

Most rates here are Booking.com's public price for Tuesday 10 November 2026, checked on 24 September 2026; the Berkeley and Sloane Square Hotel were priced on their own booking engines on 18 September, and the Rembrandt on its own on 25 September. Booking.com members often see a lower 'Genius' price, and several hotels (San Domenico House, Sloane Place, the Hari) take 10 per cent off for booking direct, so check both.

Look at the square metres before the price. Entry rooms here run from 9 square metres (the Chelsea Townhouse's Cosy) to 57 (a Chelsea Harbour suite), and the cheapest room at a famous hotel is often its smallest and darkest. Breakfast is rarely included; the Emory, Beaverbrook and the Rembrandt are exceptions.

To budget the rest of the trip, see the London trip-cost guide, and to compare Knightsbridge with Covent Garden, the South Bank or Kensington, the where to stay in London guide.

── frequently asked

Frequently asked questions.

Is Knightsbridge a good area to stay in London?
Yes, if you want luxury hotels, shopping and quiet streets. Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea are among the calmest parts of central London at night, with Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Sloane Street and Hyde Park on foot and the Piccadilly line running direct to Heathrow and to Piccadilly Circus. The downsides are price and nightlife: most hotels were over £400 a night on an off-peak Tuesday, and the streets go quiet early in the evening. For a first visit on a budget, Covent Garden, Bloomsbury or Westminster put more sights within walking distance.
Which hotels are closest to Harrods?
Knightsbridge Hotel on Beaufort Gardens is a four-minute walk, The Capital on Basil Street five, and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Bvlgari and Egerton House six. Park Tower, Millennium Knightsbridge and Zedwell are seven.
What is the cheapest hotel in Knightsbridge or Chelsea?
For Tuesday 10 November 2026 on Booking.com, the cheapest were Zedwell Knightsbridge (£157, a windowless pod), a suite at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel (£216), Millennium Knightsbridge (£222) and Sloane Place (£229). On their own sites, the Rembrandt was £209.93 with breakfast and Sloane Square Hotel £236. Everything else was £244 and up, and most of the townhouse hotels started between about £380 and £600.
Which Knightsbridge and Belgravia hotels have a swimming pool?
The Peninsula and Bvlgari each have a 25-metre indoor pool. The Berkeley has a heated rooftop pool in spring and summer, and both the Berkeley and the Emory include Surrenne, whose indoor lap pool is 22 metres. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has a 17-metre indoor pool, and Jumeirah Carlton Tower's Peak fitness club has an indoor pool guests use free. The Rembrandt's guests can use the heated indoor pool at the Aquilla health club next door for £15 a day. The Cadogan, COMO The Halkin and the townhouse hotels have no pool.
Where should I stay for the Chelsea Flower Show?
Stay near Sloane Square. The 2027 RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs 18 to 22 May at the Royal Hospital Chelsea (public days 20 to 22 May), and the RHS says Sloane Square station is a 10-minute walk from the showground. At Sloane, Sloane Square Hotel, Sloane Place, the Chelsea Townhouse, 11 Cadogan Gardens and San Domenico House are all within about six minutes of the station. Those hotels fill early for show week, so book the room when you buy the tickets.
